Mass excavation of Tier 3 soils is 98% complete as of this week. Excavation of the escalator pits was completed, in addition to preparations for the freight elevator shaft.
Crews worked throughout the week to remove several large footings that had been buried on the northeast side of the project in preparation for pipe piling that is expected to start in that area in the coming weeks. Work also continued to determine the layout of pipe piling and extents of the pile caps. Freezing rain created muddy site conditions later in the week, which was anticipated to dry out over the weekend.
